Meet
Incarnation
The
Church of the Incarnation,
Bloomingdale can trace its
beginning back to November 4, 1981 when The Rt. Rev. James
Montgomery of the Diocese of Chicago
appointed The Rev. Alvin Johnson as a missioner to
the area. He began to gather a congregation by knocking on doors.
With the help and love of two sister
churches in the Aurora Deanery, Trinity Church in
Wheaton and St. Mark's
Church in Glen Ellyn, the fledgling mission began to take shape and
grow. The first Eucharist and study groups were held in members'
homes until a nucleus of 86 people gathered on Palm Sunday 1982 for
their first formal worship service in the gym at the Central School
in Bloomingdale. A proud and thankful congregation occupied its
present church building at 261 West Army Trail Road, Bloomingdale,
IL on July 31, 1988.
Over the years we have gone through many changes, yet
we have remained the same caring and intimate church family we
have all come to love. Incarnation is proud to
be home to many who have found our worship and fellowship a common
meeting ground to many from varied faith backgrounds.

Showers of Happiness
to the
Koletsos Family
This year's Epiphany Tea was
also a Baby Shower for Agnes & Joe Koletsos who will welcome
a new baby in February. The Surprise shower was held in the
church Undercroft where a special luncheon and cake were
served. Agnes, Joe and soon to be big brother Lincoln
opened much welcomed gifts.

Thank You
and Future Happiness
Sandy White

Sadly, Incarnation
says good-bye to Sandy White who is moving to Virginia
where she will be married to her Fiancé Bob in the
upcoming new year.
After relocating to the area from
California, Sandy, a retired Teacher, has been an
active member of Incarnation from the start. She
has served as a member of the Altar Guild and St.
Elizabeth's Guild, our Episcopal Woman's Group.
Sandy's greatest gift
to Incarnation was her implementation and teaching of
the ACT/SAT college testing preparation classes that
were held free of charge on Saturday afternoons.
Through the years, she has helped many area high school
students prepare for the mandatory college entrance
tests. Through her gifted teaching, many of the
students were able to earn college scholarships because
of their high score.
Sand will truly be missed. We bid
her a fond farewell and wish her a lifetime of happiness
with her new family! |
